Price observations

Prices Nearby helps compare observed product prices. Recognition, store matching and unit conversions may be incomplete or incorrect. Observations can become outdated; stock, taxes, membership, promotion dates, purchase limits and package differences can affect the checkout price. Check the label and store before purchasing. A comparison is not a reservation, a retailer offer, or a guarantee of savings.

Your account and submissions

Keep account access secure. Upload only photos you have rights and permission to share. Do not fabricate price labels, misrepresent stores, submit unlawful content or abuse the service. Your photos remain yours; you allow us and our service providers to store and process them to provide recognition, comparisons and problem investigation. Confirming a scan can share its validated price observation and public store location, as described in the Privacy Policy. Source photos are not publicly posted.

Confirmed price facts

When you confirm a price observation, you grant IDEASpike a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, use, correct, aggregate, analyse and publish de-identified product, store, price, package or unit, applicable price-condition and observation-time facts solely to operate and improve Prices Nearby. This licence does not authorise public display of your source photo, account identity or precise capture coordinates. It continues after account deletion only for price facts that have been irreversibly de-identified. This continuation does not extend the seven-day retention period in the Privacy Policy.

Review and availability

A scan with no detected price tag ends without manual product/price submission. Review marks and corrections help identify mistakes; they do not guarantee the accuracy of the result. Features depend on supported iOS versions, connectivity and service providers.

Credits and funded results

The current app supports prepaid Credits. Recognition and submitting price observations are free. Access to an eligible delivered lower-price comparison uses 1 Credit for that scan; no lower price, an unavailable result, or diagnostic-only feedback is not charged. Reopening or refreshing an already-funded scan does not charge it again. Check the displayed result-access action before confirming. A comparison does not guarantee that a retailer will honor a price observation.

Paying a Credit does not extend or restart the seven-day cloud cleanup period. Completed comparisons are saved in local History for you to reopen without another Credit. Cloud or photo-cache cleanup does not remove those saved results. Clearing local data, signing out, deleting your account or removing the app removes that local history. Purchase recovery does not recreate deleted local history.

Purchases, recovery and refunds

The current catalogue offers a one-time consumable pack of 10 Credits, with the available price and currency displayed by Apple. This is not a subscription. Purchased Credits do not expire because of time or inactivity; they are service-use units, not deposits or investments. Credits are delivered to the app account used for purchase after transaction verification. Use the same app account and Retry purchases for interrupted delivery; retries do not grant the same transaction twice or restore spent Credits. Do not buy again to resolve a completed purchase. Apple handles refund requests at reportaproblem.apple.com, subject to eligibility and applicable law. If Apple reverses a purchase, the service removes the remaining unspent Credits from that purchase rather than taking unrelated purchased Credits or creating a negative balance. Reporting a problem is not itself a refund request. Account deletion does not automatically request a refund, transfer Credits or restore a balance. Requests concerning unused purchased Credits are handled under the applicable purchase terms and law.

Licence and intellectual property

For App Store downloads, Apple’s Standard EULA governs the app licence unless a custom EULA is provided for your country or region through App Store Connect. These Terms supplement the applicable EULA and govern IDEASpike accounts, online services, app content and paid entitlements, where offered. Subject to that agreement and these terms, IDEASpike grants you a limited, personal and non-transferable licence to use the service for its intended purpose. IDEASpike and its licensors retain all rights in the app, software, design and supplied content.

Service changes and contact

IDEASpike may update, suspend or discontinue the service. Where practicable, we will give reasonable advance notice and stop new Credit sales before a planned permanent closure. To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided as available without additional warranties beyond those expressly stated in these terms or required by law, and IDEASpike is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from reliance on price observations or service interruption. Changes or closure do not remove applicable contractual or statutory remedies for unused paid Credits or services not supplied. App Store refund requests follow Apple’s process. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law. The store directory includes OpenStreetMap data under the Open Database License. See OpenStreetMap attribution and the ODbL 1.0 license. A directory match does not imply retailer endorsement.
